Trailer analysis (migrain)

Text- Casino Royale trailer

M- colour of the picture is black and white to possibly connote the historical aspects of James bond, the planes and money showing the higher end of the social status, violence shown in the fighting scenes in toilets, all aspects of the trailer are aimed at people of higher status because of the settings and the cars (all mise en scene).

I- metro goldwyn mayer (mgm for short) and Columbia

G- The genre of the film is mostly based on the action genre as most of the scenes include fight scenes or scenes of violence however historically, James bond films also include a bit of comic relief in them and this is another movie that follows that pattern.

R- Men are represented in masculine ways with scenes of violence.

Daniel Craig emerges out of the water taking away some of his masculinity and attracting a female gaze.

Women are represented in a way that they are confirming mulvey's theory of being objectified with bikinis, no trousers and low cut dresses.

All characters in the film are being represented from a high social class with the cars, houses, and poker games that are being played.

A- For a James Bond film there is no primary and secondary audience because historically, James Bond films always attract a wider audience of all social classes.

I- Main ideologies include, money is everything (cases of money at the start), women are shown as equal to men in some aspects with the authoratitive and powerful clothing and actions taken by the females in the movie. Eva Green being a spy shows the equality between men and women.

N- The narrative is a linear narrative because it flows through one way without any flashbacks during the linear narrative and it doesn't follow Todorov's theory as it keeps being disrupted all the way through and it is all violence and spying.
