Scary movie is a movie directed by Keenen ivory wayans as a part of wayans bros entertainment and the genre of the movie is a dark comedy and the movie is based on the Scream movies also other slasher movies have been included also along with other genres of movie, for example The Matrix in a particular scene with the killer and the main protagonist Cindy Campbell.



The plot of the movie is based around the scream movies, which was a movie that had revitalised the slasher genre with the conventions that it uses, like the signature mask of the killer, the voice and the knife that he uses to kill his victims with. Scary Movie is a spoof movie or a parody and this is when a movie like scary movie looks to somehow copy or to mock an original piece of work that has already been famous.

This movie does incorporate other slasher movies into it but most notably this movie seeks to incorporate other movies and other genres of movie into the movie as it looks to mock the movie, for example the matrix movie is incorporated into this film with one scene in particular with the killer and the main protagonist in a 'fight scene' where the aspect of missing the bullets and the objects and also the bending backwards to create the matrix effect.
